The video was eye-opening for me. The blatant advertising I get, but some of the ones that are subliminally placed in your mind are scary. I had seen many of the ads before, but there were some that I never paid close attention to. The idea that the little white girl was shown towering over the little black boy and how race is portrayed in advertising is something that never occurred to me. Not in the subtle ways they do it. It is no wonder racisim and sexism, as well as ageism, still exist. These things are imbedded in our psyhe on a daily basis, hundreds of times a day, and we never give them much thought. What a scary thing for something to have that much power over you, and you don't even know it.
