Just wow.
Yesterday our group went around the community to post flyers up, and unfortunately I could not begin the process with them - work and other reasons - but when I came to, all I was hearing was positive comments about how businesses were rushing to put the flyer up as soon as they walked in the building. I'm hopeful that the project will bring about change in our community, but more importantly show that "kids" today are still willing to be voices of change in college.
So many times we all are summed up into either one of two cateogies: greek or drunk. Whenever I'm out and about, I'm always asked whether or not I'm greek - or if I drink....... because apparently that's all college students do. I'm excited not only for the postivie things to come from our course, but more importantly to give the students here a little voice in a big world.
Thanks Dr. K - you're inspiring a class to get behind social change!
